FOREST OWNER
Summit Forests is a very proud forest owner within the Northland Region of New Zealand.

• Various management agreements.
Protecting our forest and the forest assets of other forest owners within the region is of upmost importance to Summit. As such we invest heavily in maintaining our firefighting equipment and in staff training. Summit is an active member of the Northland Rural Fire Authority.
Control all unwanted exotic weed species within our forest in preparation for planting and during ongoing management.
As a responsible forest owner, we replant annually all area harvested from the previous year ensuring the continuation of a sustainable estate.
Creating the most marketable and versatile end product is a key goal for Summit. It is with this goal in mind that we plant more trees per hectare than required for harvest. The higher stocking improves our crop tree form and once achieved the non-crop trees are thinned early in the rotation to increase the forests growth and productivity.
